1.16.2. Provisions of the lever of gear shifting

parking transfer

Parking transfer supplements the parking brake, locking the automatic transmission when the car needs to be parked.
When the lever of the automatic transmission is in this situation, the engine can be started.
At the parking of the car, besides inclusion of parking transfer, put the car also on the parking brake.

Prevention
If the pedal of a brake is not squeezed out, the interlock will not allow to switch the lever of the automatic transmission from the provision of parking transfer to other situation.
Never include parking transfer at the movement of the car.

transfer of a backing

Switch the lever of the automatic transmission to this situation only after the car completely stops.

neutral transfer

When finding the lever of the automatic transmission in this situation the engine can be started.

Prevention
Always squeeze out a brake pedal when switching the lever of the automatic transmission of situation N (neutral transfer) to the provision of other transfer. At a start of motion do not switch the lever of the automatic transmission from situation N (neutral transfer) to the provision of other transfer, at the same time pressing a brake pedal. It is dangerous as the car can move sharply forward or back.
If the car costs on a slope, it needs to be started when the lever of the automatic transmission is in situation P (parking transfer), but not in situation N (neutral transfer).

advance transfer

Include this transfer at movement along the highway or on the city.

second transfer

Include this transfer when driving at a small speed on the city with high intensity of traffic or on mountain roads when bigger control over the car is necessary.

Also include this transfer when overcoming long steep slopes or for braking by the engine during not really abrupt descent.

low gear

Include this transfer when overcoming very steep slopes and for braking by the engine on abrupt descents at a speed of movement of 40 km/h or less.

The maximum speed of the movement (cars with automatic orobky transfers)
In order that the engine was not damaged during the work on very big turns, do not exceed the maximum speed of the movement at the movement on 2 (second) or L (lowered) transfer.
