1.11.3. Requirements for fuel octane number

For all cars, except on what the engine with the double top camshaft is installed the gasoline which is not containing tetraethyllead with the minimum octane number equal 87 [(R+M)/2] or 91 has to be used.

All cars on which the engine with the double top camshaft is installed have to use the gasoline which is not containing tetraethyllead with the minimum octane number equal 91 [(R+M)/2] or 95. If you cannot get gasoline with such high octane number, it is possible to use gasoline with the octane number equal 87 ((R+M]/2] or 91. However in this case engine capacity will be reduced.

The oxidized gasoline
At some gas stations gasoline on the basis of ethyl alcohol, methyl alcohol or trimetilbutilovy air is on sale though they can be called differently.
Use of this kind of fuel is not recommended if only you are not sure that its structure suits for your car.

Ethanol
Mix of 10% of ethanol (ethyl alcohol) and 90% of the gasoline which is not containing tetraethyllead can be used for gas station of the car if its octane number is not lower than recommended.

Methanol
Do not use the gasoline containing methanol (methyl alcohol) for gas station of the car. Use of such gasoline can cause problems with operation of the engine and lead to breakage of some important elements of fuel system.

Trimetilbugilovy air
Mix of 15% or is less than trimetilbutilovy air and gasoline which is not containing tetraethyllead, can be used for gas station of the car if its octane number is not lower than recommended.

Prevention
If you have problems with operation of the engine and consider that it is connected with type of the used fuel, try to pass to other fuel.
