3.3.5. Installation of ignition


As a rule this operation is carried out at each cycle of works on adjustment of the engine. The ignition moment when using automatic adjustment is very stable, nevertheless the manufacturer allows a deviation from optimum installation (±2) °.

Turns of idling and the moment of ignition are recommended to be regulated together with the subsequent mutual adjustment. At installation of ignition be guided first of all by data on the podkapotny plate.

ENGINES 2,0 AND 2,6 L

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Warm up the engine.
2. Disconnect everything consumers, establish transmission in neutral situation.
3. Connect a tachometer according to the instruction of the manufacturer and check idling turns.
4. Connect a stroboscope according to the instruction of the manufacturer.
5. Start the engine and direct light to a crankshaft pulley. Idling the lit tag has to be opposite to the index of a scale on a forward cover.
In need of adjustment release a bolt and turn the distributor case before combination of a tag with the index. Tighten bolts and again check installation of ignition.
6. Stop the engine and disconnect a stroboscope.

L ENGINES 2,4 AND 3,0 (12-VALVATE)

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Warm up the engine. Disconnect everything consumers, establish transmission in neutral situation.
2. Stop the engine and connect a stroboscope according to the instruction of the manufacturer.
3. Connect paper clips contacts of the socket of the sensor of speed of rotation of the engine (or the filter, depending on the engine) and wires from primary winding of the coil.
Connect a tachometer to a paper clip, without disconnecting the socket.
4. Start the engine and check idling turns.
5. Stop the engine and switch off ignition.
6. Connect to weight a conclusion for installation of ignition.
7. Start the engine.
8. Direct stroboscope light to a crankshaft pulley. Idling the moment of ignition has to be 3–7 °до VMT.
9. In need of adjustment release a fastening nut, turn the case of the distributor and determine the ignition moment. Carefully tighten a nut.
10. Stop the engine and remove a paper clip and a crossing point on weight.
11. Start the engine and again check installation of the moment of ignition. The moment of ignition has to be 8 ° to VMT on the engine of 2,4 l and 15 ° to VMT on the engine of 3,0 l.

Small difference from these values which can be caused by the processor mode during basic control of ignition is allowed.

ENGINE OF 3,0 L (24-VALVATE) AND 3,5 L

2. Stop the engine and connect a stroboscope according to the instruction of the manufacturer.
3. Direct stroboscope light to a crankshaft pulley. Idling the moment of ignition has to be 2–8 °до VMT.
4. Start the engine and check idling turns which have to be 600–800 rpm. If necessary adjust.
5. Stop the engine and switch off ignition.
6. Connect to weight a conclusion for installation of ignition.
7. Start the engine.
8. Direct stroboscope light to a crankshaft pulley. Idling the moment of ignition has to be 2–8 ° to VMT.
9. If necessary adjust position of the sensor of rotation of the crankshaft.
10. Stop the engine and remove a paper clip and a crossing point on weight.
11. Start the engine and again check installation of the moment of ignition. The moment of ignition has to be 15 ° to VMT for both engines. Small difference from these values which can be caused by the processor mode during basic control of ignition is allowed.
