The fuel filter on carburetor and injector engines

The fuel filter is specified by an arrow.

On carburetor engines the filter is mounted on a frame channel consistently with a fuel pipe and fastens to hoses collars.

On injector engines the filter of high pressure which is also mounted on a channel of a frame and is switched on in the highway through cap the union is used.

Before removal of the filter execute a decompression of fuel system (see subsection 8.2.1). In case of strong pollution of the filter remove and wash out a tank. For access to filters it is recommended to lift the car.

The hose has to come for a branch pipe (it is specified by an arrow) not less than on 25 mm.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the battery from weight.
2. Weaken collars.
3. Disconnect hoses and get the filter from an arm.
4. Check a condition of hoses, if necessary replace.
5. Installation is carried out upside-down. Attach hoses in the required order.

INJECTOR ENGINES

Prevention
On a part of cars the hatch of the fuel pump for access to which it is necessary to remove a rug in a cargo compartment and a floor covering is provided. Remove the hatch, disconnect the socket and having started the engine, develop the fuel rest. After these actions pressure in fuel system will go down.

Replacement
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Execute a decompression (see subsection 8.2.1).
2. Disconnect the battery from weight.
3. Remove the air filter.
4. Turn off bolts of unions and disconnect hoses.
5. Turn off a bolt of fastening and remove the filter.
6. Installation is carried out upside-down. Tighten bolts of unions of final and inlet hoses with m 24–34 and 34 N.' moment respectively.

DIESEL

The replaceable element of the fuel filter is established in a tank which is mounted in a motor compartment.

Correct provision of a collar

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Designate and disconnect from a tank with the filter sockets.
2. Spread rags, carefully disconnect hoses.
3. Turn off bolts of fastening and remove a filter tank.
4. Remove an arm and a guard from a tank.


5. By hand turn out the filter from a tank.
Turn out the sensor of water level and a cap from the filtering element.
6. The filtering element is recommended to be replaced. It is possible to be limited to its careful washing in kerosene.
7. Installation is carried out upside-down. Tighten the sensor of water level and a cap with m 9 and 4 N.' moment respectively. Remove air from system in the following order:
– release a stopper for removal of air;
– turn out a cap of the lever of the pump of manual pumping and extend the lever;
– pump up fuel before disappearance of vials of air, tighten a stopper;
– continue to pump up fuel until rigidity of the course of the lever begins to be felt;
– move and put the lever.

At fire of a control lamp of water level in a settler it is necessary to remove moisture from the fuel filter.

PERFORMANCE ORDER


1. Turn off a drain stopper in the lower part of the filter.

2. Turn out a cap of the lever of the pump of manual pumping and extend the lever.
3. Continue to pump up fuel until water ceases to come out.
4. Move and put the lever.
