On the car the liquid cooling system of the closed type with compulsory circulation of liquid by means of the centrifugal pump is used (see rice. Details of the cooling system of engines). It includes a radiator, the water pump, the thermostat, a broad tank under atmospheric pressure and the fan with the viscous coupling. On engines 4D56T the electric fan with the plastic krylchatka established on a shaft of the electric motor which inclusion and switching off is carried out from the sensor of turning on of the electric fan is used.

The tubular and ridge radiator works under elevated pressure.

Pressure of opening of valves of a stopper of a jellied mouth, kgf/cm2:
– final valve: 0,75 – 1,05 (it is more or equally 0,65) *;
– inlet valve: it is less or equally 0,05.

Prevention
Since May, 1991 the integral directing fan casing is established that allowed to increase the cooling ability of a radiator.

The case the thermostat fastens directly to the case of the water pump.
Temperature of opening of the main valve of the thermostat: 76,5 °C.

Prevention
On engines 4D56T the main valve of the thermostat begins to open at a temperature of 82 °C and completely opens at a temperature of 95 °C.

The centrifugal water pump of bladed type is put in action by a maple belt together with the generator. The fan is put on an axis of the water pump via the viscous coupling.

Prevention
On release engines 4D56 since May, 1991 productivity of the water pump is increased thanks to change of a design of the pump from absorption.

The normal deflection of a belt when pressing with effort of 10,0 kgfs to the middle of a branch between a pulley of the generator and a pulley of the water pump has to be within 10–13 mm.
